Dr Lewis Wagner

Hertfordshire Dentist
I qualified in the wonderful wine country of Stellenbosch University in 1980 (B.Ch.D. Stell.), going on to further studies in Oral Medicine in 1988 (Hons B.Ch.D. Oral Med) while running my own practice in Hermanus, on the southern Cape coast.

After emigrating to the UK in 1992 with my family, I settled in Bishop’s Stortford to work at The Dentist where I developed interests in Prosthetic/Cosmetic dentistry, Endodontics and Implant surgery. These interests led to a M.Sc. degree in Implant Dentistry from Warwick University in 2008 (M.Sc. Implant Dent), enabling me to offer this service at other practices in the area.

I have been appointed an Honorary Fellow at the University of Warwick since 2009,assisting with the marking of M.Sc. Implantology student’s assignments. I am a Supervisor of final year students in their Professional Projects and Clinical cases. This keeps me up to date with the latest developments in the field of Implantology ensuring the clinical application of evidence-based procedures.
My recent training includes:
March 2013 Radiography, Oral Cancer, Dentolegal Issues, Decontamination, Preventing and Managing Medical Emergencies
I am also interested in general Oral Surgery as this is closely linked to the field of Implantology. The 2012 Spring Conference of the California Dental Association offered a course on the latest techniques on bone preservation during extractions, which can benefit all patients in need of this type of treatment.
I continue to attend various other courses to keep up to date with the latest developments in general dentistry as well and make use of the latest technology in providing the best possible treatment for all patients.
